2020 Election Thread (formerly: 2020 Presidential Candidates Thread) (Part 1)

Florida was just a hope to end the night early. It’s not where the game is.

Right. It’s not the end-all but fuck if it wouldn’t make me feel a hell of a lot better.

Oh yeah - I’d have said that I could go to bed early.

Just saying elsewhere the Florida exit polls show a big swing to Trump in Latinx people, and a big swing to Biden in seniors.

Wisconsin, Michigan & Pennsylvania are where it’s at; as expected for months.

Anybody (attempting to) watch NPR’s coverage? I’m guessing that their Premiere or AE object is working correctly, as it does seem to display data correctly when it gets some. So I think the script that mangles data into CSV is misformatting most of it. Irregardless, it’s fucking maddening.

Texas is looking better than 2016. It’s a stretch- but progress there is a good thing. Even if it’s not this year.

A lot of focus on Miami-Dade on TV, but there are strong signs from Broward in favor of Biden. As usual, fivethirtyeight is the place to be.

Ugh! They couldn’t even get rid of that haunted, poorly fitting skin suit?

NBC called Colorado for Biden.

And they just called the senate race in CO for Hickenlooper, so that’s a +1 for Dems.

Hickenlooper wins the CO senate seat in a pick up!

I almost bought some of that tonight! Went the bourbon route instead.

I did a turkey dinner, so I’m feeling tranquil. (Not a full turkey, a pre-cooked breast. Throw it in the oven for 30 minutes and it’s done. You can also microwave it or boil in the bag, but eugh!)

Time to start watching the results, with alcohol in reserve either way.

Welp, don’t expect a Georgia result of any quality tonight, even with all of the current madness taken into account. It sounds like a water pipe broke in one of the facilities being used to store ballots in one of the major Democratic strongholds.

It should probably not surprise you that he’s been projected to win the seat. This is all they’re about now.

I bought one to celebrate with some friends for the Supreme Court LGBT decision back in June. Socially distant in the park. I have a few glasses left - this seemed big enough a day for one of the glasses. A bit of a splurge, for sure!

Then switch to something else if I want another drink.
