Eat shit, Rick Santorum.
I mean, it’s right in the name.
Welp, the talking heads are starting to sound like 2016. We’ve gone from Biden being heavily favored and now they’re all talking about everything he did “wrong”…
The more I read and hear how we need to be patient the more sick I feel.
How does an incompetent fool get more votes than he did before he demonstrated how incompetent of a fool he is.
Whichever way it goes, this result is a disaster. Its hard to believe that this is the same population which elected Barack Obama, twice.
The rise of social media and its ability to spread disinformation while simultaneously making it easier for loonies to find each other and organize was a large factor.
Obama’s first election had moderate Facebook use among the population and mainly by the young and educated. Twitter barely had a presence. Now both are juggernauts filled with trash, and both capable of crafting a calibrated personalized ad from the highest bidder to an individual voter.
Trump lead in MI is narrowing to invisibility, remaining votes in MI, WI, PA are overwhelmingly democratic. Not anywhere near the repudiation of trumpism I was hoping for, but still looking for a Biden win.
I feel that my decision to head to bed exhausted and tipsy at 11pm has been vindicated.
The biggest count still to do, as of this morning, is the Metro area, which is heavily democratic. We’ll see if that changes the right lean.
PA isn’t even necessary for a Biden win any more if AZ and NV are won. The only thing stopping a Biden win right now is legal shenanigans.
Will the GOP ask for a recount in WI before the returns in PA are done?
MI, WI, NV aren’t called yet for a good reason. Biden is ahead, but there’s not enough votes counted yet to say for certain he will maintain that lead.
I first read that as 11 am and thought, “you know, that’s not a bad idea.”
There’s supposed to be an 11am status update going on.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson will hold a virtual press conference this morning at 11 a.m. “to provide an update on the counting process in Michigan,” according to her office.
eta update:
About 25,000 absentee ballots from the city of Detroit still need to be counted as of about 11 a.m., said Chris Thomas, a Detroit election official.
Thomas said they have between 170,000 to 172,000 total absentee ballots.
There are challengers on-site, both Republican and Democrat, Thomas said, but there haven’t been any major disputes or fights. “Nothing crossing the line.” he said.
