2020 Election Thread (formerly: 2020 Presidential Candidates Thread) (Part 1)

I think we are done with this one. I can easily foresee her running as a third party candidate with lots of “dark money” backing. And that will be the end.

I mean… I have a “wine cave”… it’s just me on the couch with a blanket over my head and a glass of wine in my hand, but still.

In short, vote for me! Wine caves for all!

Instead of impeachment, hopefully followed by imprisonment?

The other Hawaii congressman, a blue dog, finally decided to vote for impeachment, but only after his constituents (like me) made it clear that if he didn’t he’d be out next election. Tulsi is already out next election, and has no chance of being POTUS, so the only thing she’s running for is FOX commentator.

“Why is Black voter turnout so low? It must be because poor people are lazy and ignorant. Let’s run patronising ad campaigns reminding them how important it is to vote, and rant on social media about how stupid non-voters are to blame for everything that’s wrong with America.”

Pretty fucking ironic that his candidacy is basically fueled by Black President Aura.

If Obama doesn’t want to endorse, his staff and campaigners will

Maybe that’s how Uncle Joe can reach the youths. Could you picture him in an ad for an energy drink called “Black President Aura?”

“Bernie’s supporters are all privileged white brocialists”

Good to see he finally passed Biden. Previous results were all, “Huh?!”

Name recognition is a fickle thing; boosts a candidate early, but can only fade as a campaign progresses.

Ain’t nobody going to hear about Joe for the first time today and then decide to start supporting him; he’s already got every supporter that he’s ever going to get. His only way out is down.

Tulsi Gabbard can fuck off.

Carry on.

“Like clockwork, Bernie Sanders is accused of being an anti-Semite.”

https://www.blackagendareport.com/freedom-rider-propaganda-and-defeat-jeremy-corbyn

Corbyn and his party were relentlessly targeted by the corporate media who worked in collusion with the Tories, the surveillance state, and rightwing forces in the country. He was accused of being a Russian agent and an anti-Semite. … Most voters said that the charges of anti-Semitism didn’t sway their choices, but propaganda works in an insidious way. Repetition of a lie can change minds, much like subliminal messaging on a constant loop. Eventually the target cannot be thought of in a positive light and is connected with the libel just because it is uttered often enough…. The post-election analysis on this side of the Atlantic parroted all the claims of Corbyn’s opponents. We are told that the Democrats can’t go too far to the left, that is to say protect the welfare state, because they will end up like Corbyn and the Labour party. Like clockwork, Bernie Sanders is accused of being an anti-Semite. The smear worked so well that there is no need to come up with something new. If Corbyn can be defeated with a libel it can work just as well on Sanders.

I feel like accusations of antisemitism may seem a little bizarre against Sanders. All of us know that a Jewish person can be antisemitic just as much as a woman can be misogynist and a black person can be racist. But half the public still thinks, “I have a Jewish lawyer” is a defense against antisemitism, so “I am Jewish” feels like it would brush off that attack.

But in today’s America I have no idea. The Republicans will probably just say Sanders isn’t Jewish and demand the birth certificate.
