Also making the Russians have to think about these same questions. “What’s that plane doing?” So, yet another thing to devote mental resources to. Even if it’s just for tracking the planes, it’s a distraction and a worry.

Excellent article from last November that makes me think that things are not going to go well for Putin and his Russian invaders. The Russian armed forces don’t have the logistical resources to strike deep into Ukraine, far less to conquer the whole country. That explains why most of the Russian operations so far have been dispersed and have taken place close to the borders: Logistics, logistics, logistics.

Maybe all hes really wanted is to appear to settle for a chunk of it. Maybe he sees that as some “progress” toward restoring old Russian glory.
