People put far too much trust in a neatly-formatted output.

ETA: most people, even computer-savvy people, are surprised to learn that software can be both 98% accurate and have a 5% chance of being right. This is why step 2 - the human check - gets skipped a lot.

Yeah - some people cannot resist their own over-promising under-delivering hype as the route to quick riches rather than build a long-term trusted business model by being honest about their capabilities and uses.
