In a demonstration of remarkable Ukrainian resilience, several rebuilding initiatives are taking place across the country despite continued Russian attacks on civilian areas.
“Life doesn’t wait for anyone, and it will not wait for us,” STEM charity founder Elizeveta Korenko told Dezeen. “We have to do this work now.”
One year: Kyiv and most of Ukraine still in Ukrainian hands; NATO expanded by two countries; Western unity more resolute than expected; the Russian military an international laughingstock due to its corruption and incompetence; the Putin regime firmly established (by its own military and domestic actions and propaganda) as not only a thuggish kleptocracy but also a fascist autocracy; various factions of gangsters killing each-other under that regime to gain the upper hand; tens of thousands of educated young Russians fled and never to return; economically crippling sanctions for Russia and the West accelerating its move away from dependence on the fossil fuels that are the only exports of value Moscow can offer the rest of the world.
Congratulations, Vova!
Leadership change, in more than just Russia or Ukraine, will be the most decisive factor. The best-case scenario (and this is by no means a good one) would be a military coup against Putin by Russian officers who are sick of being putting into a position of openly displaying their organisation’s bungling and corruption. This only happens if they’re able to make a temporary alliance with enough secret police thugs from the rival siloviki faction.

She described Russia as a threat to Europe, and said Ukrainians are dying to protect the continent’s security and should be given advanced offensive weaponry.
“We are not losing people. We’re just losing some money. I say we are losing, [but] I think we are investing in a way, investing into our security,” she said.
“The least thing we can do is to support Ukraine with anything it needs,” she added.
Amen!! And pass the ammunition. Honestly, this needs to be widely broadcast. Truer words and all…
