I would assume that is a supremely true statement.
Speaking of Finland:
Good coverage by Planet and Maxar:
US commercial sats still whizzing above Russia. Unchallenged.
They leaked a saucy and racy video of Aleksandr Anatolyevich Matovnikov, a russian General, trying to link Him to this incident. The intention of this video was to demoralize the general and the authors of this leak would be other Russian military
Into that category place the sexy dance with nothing but a towel that Lt. Gen. Alexander Matovnikov — Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of Russia, commander of forces in Belarus and hero of Russia — did for his girlfriend (or whoever) that was — coincidentally? — leaked the day after his forces allowed a Russian air base to be penetrated by Belarus partisans who blew up a $300 million Russian AWACS plane known as an A-50.
Estonian counters Finnish officer’s bleak depiction of Ukrainian military
An Estonian military officer suggested to tabloid Ilta-Sanomat that the Ukrainian military is performing much better than the bleak outlook of an anonymous Finnish officer working with Ukrainian forces, published in an Yle article on Tuesday.
The Finnish officer gave a bleak view of Ukraine’s military prospects, suggesting Ukraine is not equipped nor prepared to handle Russia’s invasion in the long term.
Estonian Lieutenant Colonel Rainek Kuura told IS that he does not agree with that assessment.
Kuura visited Ukraine in 2018 and had seen how the armed forces had evolved after only a few years of fighting in eastern Ukraine from old Soviet-era tactics.
“And a lot of progress has been made since then. I’ve watched how they use their artillery and armoured vehicles. At least from public sources you can conclude that they have improved and learned,” Kuura told IS.
According to Kuura, Ukraine has not shed all of its old doctrines and acknowledged that cannot be done overnight.
“They have achieved good results in counter-attacks and have shown that they are ready to apply new tactics and utilise new weapons systems,” Kuura noted.
The story about Russia recruiting Palestinians to fight in Ukraine might not be true.
In any case, I’d be suspicious about a “Lebanese government security source” who talks to an Israeli newspaper.

Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, has made remarks during his visit to India at the opening ceremony of a Tolstoy-Gandhi exhibition in New Delhi. He said:
The equality of peoples and the rejection of colonialism and all other forms of oppression were the values that bonded Leo Tolstoy and Mahatma Gandhi in the early 20th century, although they lived thousands of kilometres away from each other. It is becoming increasingly important now to study the rich legacy of our countries’ public figures and moral leaders.
Lavrov went on to say:
Moscow and New Delhi are consistent opponents of neo-colonial practices such as illegal unilateral sanctions, threats, blackmail and other forms of pressure on sovereign states.
We have been consistently advocating respect for the cultural and civilisational diversity of the modern world and the inalienable right of nations to independently choose their development paths.
Called it?
Of course they do
To be fair, we’re all interested in peace in Ukraine.
It’s just the exact details of that peace that differ, and matter.
A little bit of armchair analysis here, watching the poor grunts in Bakhmut hold on makes me think they know they aren’t expected to do more than draw fire, but that drawing fire is valuable because every orc attacking them is not elsewhere.
Something is brewing, but it’s hard to tell what. It might be a trap, it might be an offensive with a big push across the river, but I do get the sensation that Russia is the stupid one here, desperate for any sort of a win to report back to Der Führer that they are wasting lives… but that’s been the story since 2014, hasn’t it?
As far as the story of laying flowers at the Russian tank goes, I would like to suggest one exception: have sunflowers grow out of it.
