A bit late to the party, but at least they were thorough.

As it became known, Cisco Systems decided to physically destroy spare parts, product demonstrations, equipment and even furniture. The value of the destroyed stock is estimated at [$23.42 million]. The company has also disposed of fixed assets worth [$12,600]. By the end of 2022, Cisco Systems had reduced its workforce by a factor of 12 to five employees. The company terminated contracts with the rest in mid-2022, paying them a total of [$2.4 million].

Are they going to geoblock existing equipment from getting updates?

That would be a move I haven’t seen before, nor heard to be contemplated. While it could seem like a reasonable sequitur in pulling out of a country, completely, it would also be an interesting precedent - given how many tech companies are from the East Asia…

I put the gagadget summary, but it was first reported in Cisco из-за прекращения продаж уничтожила запчасти для оборудования в РФ на 1,9 млрд руб. , where they say (according to my google translation) that all licenses were suspended, as well as any kind of support. So even if they can ping the central servers, they won’t be able to download updates.

The next step would be to revoke the license, which basically means once the Cisco appliance pings the server, it would deactivate itself. But I don’t know if Cisco still implements this kind of things (they used to do it 10 years ago).

If customers require licences to get updates, yes.

Cisco Systems announced it would cease sales in the Russian market in March 2022. Three months later, the company refused to renew its licenses. In addition, at the same time, the American manufacturer announced its withdrawal from Russia and Belarus.

The leaks do not contain exact battle plans, but they present the first known breach of U.S. intelligence since the start of the Ukraine invasion. mediate

The NYT misspelling Wiesbaden. Checks out.

SCNR. It is pedantic, but Wiesbaden is one of the major US hubs in Europe, and has been for along time. One would assume that reporters working on US military matters could know how Wiesbaden is spelled. But then, they almost certainly misspell Wiener sausages as well.

On another note, has anyone noticed that most reports focus so much on the news on the leak that the contents of the leak is barely mentioned, or not at all?

Well, the contents are “classified”. Even after escaping into the wild the info is still a non-speak. At least for some.
