This was a very significant invitation.

The representative of the German state, commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising alongside the heads of the states of Israel and Poland, in Warsaw, and even in German - this should give us all hope for a better future.

This is especially interesting since Steinmeier shaped German foreign (and economic) politics towards Russia during the two decades, in different roles and offices. That he was invited is also important since Poland is gearing up for elections, and Polish-German relationships are an issue in the campaign.
