Strongly worded yet meaningless letter syndrome 
I’m assuming the binocular gunsight feeds into a dual-eye (i.e. similar to VR) feed for the gunner that gives them depth perception…? Or is it just extra data feeds (e.g. thermal) into what amounts to a non-stereoscopic scope?
Either way… 
Narrow field of view vs. wide field of view? Daylight camera vs. night-vision camera?
