A brief history of the selfie

I have “selfies” I took back in the late 1970’s when I was in Film/Photo Dept at College. Used an old Argus C3 with Rangefinder (everyone else had new Nikons).

I recall that at the time, people found them to be annoying. Or perhaps it was just me.

I’ll give it to George Harrison inventing the selfie in India back in 1966.

I took my first selfie with a digital camera in 1997.

If you’re really committed to the selfie, you learn the art of portraiture, like Joseph Ducreux

When Apple announced they were going to be putting a front-facing camera on one of their early iPhones, I thought to myself, “who would ever use that?”

That’s why I don’t work in product development.
