When Subway opened stores in Ireland, they were told that their bread contained too much sugar to be legally called “bread”, and had to be identified as “cake”.

My cousin moved to England and raised his family there. He has a love of cooking and his young son made some YouTube cooking videos where he made some Midwest recipes my cousin taught him.
One of these was zucchini bread. The best comment was something to the effect of “With that much sugar, that’s not bread, that’s a cake. …wait a minute, does that mean that so long as I call it bread, I can eat cake for breakfast? The Americans may be on to something!”
