What? No, Iām saying that for me, it was strange living in a city rife with Klansmen and people with KKK members in their family, and that it was so prevalent that it was just a known quantity. I absolutely do not do the same thing on any level because I do not know any Klansmen or normalize their behavior.

Yet even in this big northeastern city in which I live, I constantly have to put up with people defending their racist friends

Iām saying thereās no difference between listening to someone in Cincinnati defending their friend in the KKK and listening to someone in Boston defending their deeply antisemitic friend from business school. Considering it often feels, from our perspective, that the leftwing canāt ever agree on how to do anything, while republicans are in military like lockstep, itās nice to see when republicans say that it looks the opposite from their point of view. I heard a similar sentiment when randomly tuning into a conservative talk radio show a couple months ago. Maybe democrats are divided on a lot of points but we all at least agree trump is the absolute worst and maybe thatās all he cares about. A quote from tonightās trump rally:
