It could be argued that his entire first two years were focused on revenge for Obamaās sick burns at the Correspondentās Dinner.
Also, for reference, hereās Adam Schiffās mockery, the specific section that Trump is threatening him with arrest for treason (punishable by death). Itās a bit cringeworthy. Points for effort, Adam, but work on your delivery.
Yeah, itās obvious it was a terrible attempt at comedic hyperbole. he should have added a few more "and then he was like"s.
Remember Chris Collins?
You know, the guy who was literally caught on camera insider trading on the White House lawn and was banned from all committees because of that. The guy who is so afraid of doing town halls, that the only open invitation town hall he did was on CNN in New York City so his constituents had to take a 7 hour drive from western ny just to get to it. The guy who refused to debate his opponents the past several elections. The first representative on capitol hill to endorse Trump.
He going to change his plea in the insider trading case to guilty tomorrow.
considering that āobamacareā was a made up name too Iām almost OK with people using the name āTrumpcareā to refer to subpar health insurance policies sold through brokers with high deductibles and very little coverage. Thatās pretty much Trumpās fault. He might as well get credit for it: https://www.axios.com/trumpcare-health-plans-short-term-coverage-406011c3-2a02-434c-8fc1-12b50dabce23.html
An update. He has stepped down
Just stop, Jesse. The sun has set on your day.
"ā¦Trump, who campaigned on wild promises of annual economic growth reaching as high as ā5 or even 6 percent.ā
Promises, promisesā¦
Another one bites the dust.
Maybe heāll siphon off loons who would otherwise vote for Trump?
Ah yes. The Perot maneuver.
āMr. Collins, 69, the first sitting member of Congress to endorse President Trump in 2016ā -NYT
Whatās that word?..
Schadenfreude.
This is kinda terrifying. IANAL, but this reads as though they have stumbled onto a constitutional argument that could effectively spike a huge range of antidiscrimination laws. MAGAts will love it, which is the point, of course. āHurt the people he is supposed to be hurtingā and all.
FTA:
Or consider Ollieās Barbecue, the restaurant at the heart of a landmark 1964 civil rights case. Ollieās, according to the Supreme Court, ārefused to serve Negroes in its dining accommodations since its original opening in 1927ā though it had to end that practice after Congress banned such discrimination in the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Yet, under the Trump administrationās rule, Ollieās could have potentially immunized itself from that law by announcing that it is a mission-driven restaurant, and that its mission is to advance white supremacy by serving barbecue in its dining room to whites only. Thus, it would violate Ollieās right of expressive association to force it to associate with black customers.
Terrifying indeed, and given how unlikely it is that the plaintiff will win in this case it makes it all the more likely to become a trail balloon for repealing much of the Civil Rights Act.
Cāmon, āpressure cookerā; burst those pipes.
