Can you find any source for this other than that website… all the links in that story just link back to that site… that seems questionable to me.

[ETA] Here is the letter, and it only seems to mention Clinton once?

So basically Trump has no idea how appliances or plumbing works, and why more efficient things aren’t necessarily worse just because they use less resources. Maybe a woman just needs to tell him.

More accurately a Man needs to tell him on behalf of women. And he better be a stud.

This is obviously a lie. If a woman told him anything, he would ignore her words and stare at her ass. QED.

Hopefully the nuclear button would also need a lot of pushing.

Holy Shit! It’s a Borowitz Report from a Nov. 01, 2019 edition of The New Yorker!

Stories posted on Jason Easley’s PoliticusUSA deserve more scrutiny from now on. Journalist my ass.

Wow. It was picked up as actual news by several sites.

Yeah, that was the only other link I could find on that either… I don’t know about Politicus USA. Here is their “about us” page:

here is the WhoIS thingie:

None of which seems particular helpful in who is responsible for it.

Yeah this is common now and is exactly the tactics that the election interference described in the Mueller report did, push plausible, but fake narratives on both sides, to get people riled up.

We certainly have the tools to be incredibly well informed on what’s happening in our world now, but there is so much bullshit to sift through, and we are lacking the training to actual do so.

My wife is currently writing a book on propaganda and misinformation and I am afraid she might not let me back in the house if she knew about posting that now apparent garbage article.

Her book will be available sometime before the election in 2020. It’s written for younger folks but, certainly usable for all ages. I’ll post info here when available. Nat Geo is the publisher.

Oh! Good for her! That’s timely, too. I’m glad she’s writing it for a younger audience, as they really need it, considering how much time they are immersed in the online world. However, I wonder if older folks need it more, considering that they did not grow up in the online world…

I think all of our defenses are imperfect. Especially for an article titled, “Trump said X”. I mean, it’s not like that would have been the stupidest, nuttiest or most outlandish thing Trump had ever said. You’ve been misinformed about whether to roll your eyes over this particular thing, but the eye rolling should definitely continue.

We are all being misinformed. Every day and night now.

At one time you had clues. But now reality regularly out-ridiculouses satire.

In fact, now that it’s been widely distributed, there is probably a portion of people who looked and said “Hey! It all makes sense now.” We are talking about the same conspiracy love that has now seen a pizza parlor attacked at least twice.

Even when you have the training it is tiring, frustrating and maddening to sift through all of it.

It really is. All we can do is be as vigilant as we can and do our best. We’re not always going to get it right. Anyone who thinks that they are is kidding themselves and doing themselves and others a disservice.
