Yeah, that’s the weirdest. For me it’s one more dumb thing to throw on a pile of dumb things. I don’t have to change my worldview in the slightest whether it’s true or not. For people who like Trump it’s another bit a mental gymnastics to put in it’s own compartment (completely separate from the compartment where Trump won because Trump is the greatest of all time and no one could ever beat Trump). It seems like a lot of work.
Won’t somebody think of the breadsticks!
No. I don’t think most actually think that. I think they feel the wording helps play/appeal to the right wing religious of the party.
It’s about rhetoric not actual belief/ideology.
This is not The Onion.
I think this is why I never really got into conspiracies. They’re interesting, but not in a hyperfocus way to my ADHD brain. Therefore, it’s too much work to keep up. Reality is exhausting enough without having to try to come up with and keep track of even more convoluted explanations and alternative “evidence”.
Trump said a recently deceased member of congress might be in hell at a rally. Apparently this is not a big deal.
Having once been ‘a true believer,’ I seriously doubt that many of the ones who are actually sane genuinely believe that; for many, I think that’s just an excuse to ‘speed up’ armageddon, because they’re tired of waiting in vain.
Not after he said his bragging about sexually assaulting women (“grabbing them by the pussies,” no less) was just “locker room” talk.
“I was just kidding,” “People are misinterpreting what I meant,” etc. are a standard alt-right tactic. Trump’s got it down pat, to the point where it’s basically a reflex.
Nice Happy Holidays gift for the rest of us!
John Dingell was my Congressman, and ten times (minimum) the human.
45 is a ginormous POS.
I enjoy them the same way some enjoy a good sci fi / ARG.
Great fun if you suspend disbelief a little bit like you would any other fiction.
Best reply on that whole thread:
Far Left??
It’s just so fucking awful. And the whole context is just fucked up. The comment was made in the context of talking about John Dingell’s wife’s response to Dingell’s funeral. Normally if someone made a comment like that I’d want to say, “You know they have surviving family members who are still mourning them, right? That’s just shitty.” But the comment was made in the same breath as invoking how well Trump treated surviving family members.
And I know it’s Trump, but I’m not normalizing this shit.
Commie Christians! (His followers will totally lap this up. Watch for subscriptions to drop significantly along with references to "backing socialism, like, you know, “love your neighbor” and leftist ideas like that.)
Ah yes, the T.I. defence
.
Debbie Dingell is my Congressperson. I feel like my whole community has been insulted.
