It’s easy to like things that Jeff Flake said. The problem with Flake is that they never did anything or voted in a way that aligned with what they said.
Jeff Flake:
“Look, I just don’t know whether this man is lying about trying to rape a woman in highschool or not.” [Goes and votes to put that man on the supreme court]
Right? The only time Trump has said he’s learned anything from women, it was the whole dishwasher nonsense. Y’know, in the kitchen, because reality has no obligation to “tone it down” when it comes to racism or misogyny.
Nazworth’s tweet:Today, rather abruptly, I was forced to make the difficult choice to leave The Christian Post. They decided to publish an editorial that positions them on Team Trump. I can’t be an editor for a publication with that editorial voice.
I’m guessing two possibilities given the above:
He hadindeed planned to retire (due to ongoing editorial differences re Trump)… but at a later date.
Any statements about he planning to retire before CP’s post are false and intended to undermine and squelch what appears to be an abrupt and purposeful resignation.
I suppose there are other possibilities… but I’ve got to get back to Xmas! ps: Merry!
Plan B: Against incontrovertible proof (i.e., can no longer “tweet” nor stand at a podium) that he his too incapacitated (mentally or physically) to hold office, have FOX News and similarly friendly outlets push editorials favorably comparing Trump to FDR and the latter’s ability to successfully fulfill his duties as POTUS in spite of poor health. Furthermore, said editorials must not overlook the strategic advantage of focusing on FDR’s four terms in office, as this could – assuming a second term – be useful in administration arguments for constitutional changes.
I’m all for Trump being out of politics altogether, but nothing less than he being seen struck by a meteorite while on national live tv would convince MAGAists that he wasn’t offed by the left… and even then…
