I think anyone paying attention to Jim Bakker at this point is too far gone to be reached.

Why in the name of all that is holy would anyone claiming any shred of Christianity have time for that idiot?

He’s probably trying to sell more of his survival buckets. End times and all.

Maybe Carlson’s objective is to give the Dems a false sense of confidence and thereby cause them to bungle later somehow.

Latest from CNN: There are no reports of US casualties at this time, official says

A US official tells CNN that are no reports of US casualties at this time but an assessment is still underway.

If Iran really wanted to cause casualties, they would have; ref. below:

And the US may not currently have the “shock and awe” power in the Middle East as before:

With Trump for the most part receiving negative press here and from allies (which may – to Iranian government – indicate muted US military response for now), and Iranian citizens screaming for action, I wonder if the missile attack was gauged to (obviously in the short term) placate Iranians screaming for action, yet not trigger an all out war.

I made the mistake of looking at after hours trading on my stock portfolio, and fucking hell it’s a bloodbath.

Thank fuck for that. That actually feels like a pretty muted response, as if to say, “stop fucking with us, this is just a warning shot.” A rational leader would recognize this. Trump is not a rational leader.

ETA: and now I’m reading that Trump plans to address the country tonight. This isn’t good at all.

There are certainly enough air force assets currently flying around Iraq to give early warning for incoming missiles. Hopefully everybody was able to get out of harms way.

Big yep, on that. But an Iranian gov with citizens screaming for blood… chances get taken. And if they did absolutely nothing, that would provide Trump election juice for him. It’s all 3-dimensional chess from here on out… and Trump is out of his league… which can only put the US in greater danger.

“The nature of Iran’s leadership is also a concern. Iran is a fascist theocratic state, one that is governed by radical fundamentalist religion and willing to make martyrs. If we do go to war, it will not be an ordinary war: it will be a war of the kind that America hasn’t experienced since the Pacific Theater of World War II, where Japan’s religious fanaticism led to a bloodbath. The combination of jihad and nuclear weapons could be disastrous. What is preventing the Iranian government from launching a suicide nuclear attack if the war is going badly? It may depend on whether or not the Iranian leaders are true believers, and that’s not a chance that I relish taking. The Trump administration has seemed disorganized in the past, and we can only hope that it has thought this out. A misstep could be fatal.” -Medium

A rent-to-own nuke from NK isn’t really far fetched.

The fact that Iran has never possessed any nukes, and that the Iranian leadership have repeatedly declared that they believe the use of nuclear weapons to be haram.

Yes it is.

Neither the North Koreans nor the Iranians are suicidal. And they are not the aggressors here.

We killed one of their officials on what was a perfectly legitimate mission (meeting with the Iraqis to try and work out some peace with the Saudis).
