Yep, in terms of funding social programs, NASA isnāt the real problem. Itās the DOD over all, which a massive amount of the federal budget gets sucked up into.
It is funny how he and his sycophants are able to somehow parse a significant and (to them, somehow) satisfactory distinction between āAngry despotic president sabotages markets and demands manufacturing, acquisitions and consuming be done a very specific wayā and āoverreaching government regulation tries to control businessā
trumpās cronies are doing his bidding.
Ultimate goal here: Obama
If only they spent as much time looking to the future as they seem to spend looking at the past.
Yep. Put yourself in their shoes. They would be dumb not to at least try and find a bullshit reason to indict Obama ahead of Muellerās testimony.
Iāve got to wonder how many times a government has seized absolute power and become authoritarian only because theyād be headed to prison if they didnāt.
Iāve wondered if what you described is more the natural state of affairs, which the U.S. has thus far managed to avoid because weāre so good to our former Presidents. (Succession with honor, departure in Marine One, and lifetime Secret Service protection as ā in most cases ā a respected or revered former leader.) So far, losing the White House hasnāt meant losing your head or even (in most cases) exile from public life, and I think of that as something we get right, because it disincentivises what youāre talking about.
Then along comes Donald No-Norms-Save-Grasping-Self-Interest Trump ā¦
Was it me, or did Orban look over at Trump with a āwhoa, donāt lump me in with you!ā look?
Orban: āI mean, I may be an authoritarian despot, but Iām not Trumpian. Sheesh!ā
Any money spent planning to go to Mars is wasted if the next time the White House switches political parties the program is canceled out of spite
I remember thinking during the 2016 election how the pundit class kept talking about the ālock her upā chant saying that in America āwe donāt threaten to jail our political enemies.ā I just kept thinking, āWhat if theyāve committed crimes?ā I mean, I like peaceful transition of power, but - especially with the Ford/Nixon thing - it sometimes seems like itās become a vehicle of corruption itself.
Not that Iām saying Clinton belongs in prison (I also wouldnāt be surprised if she did). Trump has definitely committed crimes, though. Then again he has another way to make a smooth exit, which is to resign as president shortly after leaving the election and have Pence pardon him (assuming Pence is up for that).
So by Trumpās logic, the DOJ canāt indict him, and Congress canāt investigate him. Which means thereās absolutely no enforcement mechanism in the event that the president breaks the law.
Sure. This is fine.
Bill is good for jailtime, I feel. Just not for Lewinsky. His accusers.
Ummmmmā¦
Trumpās presidency is sort of the equivalent of going to a restaurant and seeing a big sign that says AGAINST THE RULES TO SHIT ON THE FLOOR, THROW SHIT AT SERVERS, OR FART ON THE SALAD BAR and the server says āWell, we never had to have actual rules about this stuff before, until that one guy came in.ā After Trumpās gone, weāre going to have a whole lot of actual enforcement mechanisms in place to make sure this junk doesnāt happen again.
Collins involved with shady stuff? No, really?
Three Florida Panhandle Radio Stations Will Barrage Listeners With Trump Clips Till 2020
Maybe hearing Donnie-Two-Bibles in heavy rotation will flip the odd Trumpkin. Maybe.
Trump jokes about wives and families that smile happily when they hear their husband/father has been shot.
Well, in theory that might be right.
This isnāt.
After all Congress can explicitly get rid of the President whenever it wants on whatever pretext it wants. As long as the votes can be generated.
And if they canāt, then Congress must be happy with the President.
Iām sure that the FCC will be cracking down on them for this violation of the regulations. Any moment now. Pretty soonā¦
