In spite of Trumpās tariffs, the budget deficit has swelled to $739 billion in Mayāan increase of 38.8 percent over a year ago. Of course, this was always the plan: cut taxes for corporations and the super-rich, pump up defense spending, explode the deficit and use the deficit as a pretext to eviscerate entitlements.

Except pretty much everybody liked Jackie (and FFS, she wasnāt āJackie Oā when she was First Lady - but since Trump has no grasp of history this stupidity isnāt surprising).
(And look, Iām not saying that itās an imperative for a White House spouse to do anything, but if they are truly interested in activism thereās no better platform for it; youāre given a taxpayer-funded staff and pretty much the biggest megaphone possible. If Melania is as disinterested in activism as it seems, she should just fucking own it.)
ETA I just realized that the second paragraph is kind of weird and out of context - I had a rant about how Meliana hasnāt done anything as other than spearhead a bullshit and ironic anti-bullying campaign but then I deleted it, hence the second part.
