It’s absurd that this whole thing could get to 10 minutes before they blow things up and then have the president ask about how many people they are going to kill. That’s probably related to Bolton’s eagerness to go to war, everyone being “acting” and no one wanting to share information with Trump because you don’t involve toddlers in important decisions.
All that said, if the story is true, I guess I agree with Trump every now and then. Killing 150 people really isn’t proportional to shooting down a drone. It’s a big “if”, though. Who knows what really happened. Who knows if any of this happened - it’s possible that they are just making up a story to bolster Trump’s anti-war image.

One thing I heard hyped about Trump a lot was that supposedly Trump’s nationalistic instincts would mean fewer foreign wars (i.e. Trump just doesn’t care what’s happening anywhere else in the world). In the classic hawk vs. dove divide, Clinton was the hawk while Trump was an ostrich. I wonder if they are going to say the democratic candidate is spoiling for war with Russia.

I mean if you think about it part of the reasons drones are flown is to prevent human casualties – they wouldn’t bother do this if there wasn’t a real risk of it being shot down or otherwise destroyed by the enemy.
I love how the MSM talking heads are trying to play the, “but Iran is the aggressor here!” like Iran hasn’t a) been screwed over by the US after signing onto the JCPOA and b) don’t have US drones fucking around in their airspace. I still don’t believe that Iran was directly responsible for the recent maritime bombings either if for no other reason than “what’s in it for them?” More sanctions? More condemnation? More threat of an imminent war with a superpower? Iran isn’t that dumb.
Right wingers have been chomping at the bit for the past 40 years to go to war with Iran and I’m pretty convinced that we’ve reached a tipping point where they will do anything to get there.
And it will be a complete shit show.
