Trump’s over-the-top cartoonishly-infuriated tweetstorms about this keep insisting that “the Squad” is antisemitic and anti-American, that they keep telling “filthy lies”, and keep using “filthy language”. I mean, obviously it’s all hyperbole for the sake of effect, but where’s all this “antisemitic filthy language” accusation stuff coming from?

Either Omar or Tlaib (I forget which of them it was, because it was a stupid non-troversy) said something on Twitter a few months ago that could be vaguely interpreted as gesturing broadly in the direction of an anti-Semitic trope when taken out of the broader context of her remarks when it came to the right-wing grift-fest going on WRT Israel. Because Dems are spineless morons who can’t score a political goal even when they’re at first and inches, they planned on having a censure vote against her in the House, which they were only barely talked down into re-wording as a general condemnation of bigotry.
Trump has, of course, taken that whole stupid, stupid self-inflicted fiasco and run with it, amping the hyperbole and broadening the target as much as possible to slime the opposition.
It also still happens to be really fucking racist.

I remember that, and remember that it wasn’t even remotely anti-Semitic unless ridiculously taken out of context and having words added to it (which is what they did). I guess inventing something someone else said and then declaring it to be “filthy language” and getting fake-angry about it fits Trump’s MO.

Ilhan Omar mildly criticized Israeli political influence and used some clumsy phrasing, which right wing snowflakes immediately used as some sort of “proof” that she was anti-Semitic. She quickly apologized but it was downed out by faux outrage and pitchforks.
