I used to participate in an Apologetics email list. It was infuriating, because they are just self-referential or argue from ignorance – basically every science talking point out of the GOP. I recall a “paper” by an Apologetics “scientist” refuting the fact that octopus eyes are more perfect than “Man’s” (which would be a problem with their core assumption that the Bible is inerrant, thus implying that god’s eye is substandard). He went on and on for a couple pages just re-phrasing the basic idea of “how are we supposed to accept the word of scientists that our eye (with it’s blind spot) is not as perfect as an octopus eye”. One could probably do a relatively simple phrase substitution and come out with most GOP talking points on climate change.
Corrupt as all fuck. The only thing positive about this is that it should make for a hell of a Saturday Night Live sketch.
Impeach that shit gibbon and clear out the whole Trump clan, Conway and Bannon.
I really want to see DSA and Socialist Alternative combine their efforts. And I want to see Kshama Sawant running for national office in about 2024. For that matter, I want more local politicians to do as much good, with as much publicity, as Sawant has been getting. Preferably more, since I’m not sure how much is escaping the socialist bubble.
And while we’re wishing, I want to see the Green Party say that dealing with Putin was a mistake and Jill Stein isn’t going to run anymore and they’re just going to start backing SA now while pushing environmental policies.
Why 2024? To replace Maria Cantwell?
Just thinking she’s probably not going to be quite ready in 2020. Maybe a turn in state politics first. That’s still kind of rushing, but we need people like her
