This is precisely why I am still ??? at how the other billionaires worth way more than Trump let him win and take the advantage. There is something going on even behind this deal with Rosneft. Something else is shifting, and why they put Trump at the top of the iceberg. Why are the other billionaires so silent? Are they stupid and scared? I hardly think so. They would be shoring up their positions, since last summer. And are benefiting somehow from all of this. HOW?

Stupid, no. Scared, I think so, yes. Trump’s shown again and again that he shows no hesitation in retaliating against anyone he dislikes, and he’s demonstrated his ability to tank a company’s stock with a single 140-character tweet. That’s why you have someone like Elon Musk – who’s said how much he dislikes Trump – treading extremely carefully; every single one of his businesses relies on government contracts (SpaceX), tax subsidies (SolarCity), or tax breaks for consumers (Tesla). If Trump decides he doesn’t like Musk and gets rid of tax breaks for solar and electric cars, his businesses would be over.

As a class, the “nice ones” are disconnected and ignorant. The activist billionaires want to head off any democratic actions to reign in their market abuses. So anti-democratic action wins.

Unwittingly, the new administration is building the world that salafi-jihadists so dearly want to inhabit, one where “crusader governments and citizens” are seen to be persecuting Sunni Muslims en masse and in which the conspiracy about there being a U.S.-orchestrated “war on Islam” actually rings true.
I don’t think there’s a damn thing unwitting about that. It’s what they want. Trump would love to provoke another 9/11. Would lead to a massive power-grab.

I still don’t buy it. Most of them know each other. All it would take is two or three of them to get together and drop a few hundred million to take Trump down, even with a fake pee tape which wouldn’t cost that much. They could get the dirt on him, but for some reason are holding back. No one has yet explained that reason satisfactorily.
