That they donāt care is obvious. That they are denying what is happening as it happens right in front of peopleās faces is fucking gaslighting.
Why do I get the feeling that Trump learned everything he knows about space from watching stuff like this?
What strikes me about all of this (besides, well, the awfulness of it) is just how BAD the Trump administration is at communication, PR, and spin. Theyāre just terrible at their jobs. All of America (and the world) is watching them put children in cages and build actual concentration camp tent cities, and thereās a hundred ways they couldāve spun this to make it look less blatantly evil. Something like: "Look, weāre not heartless. Weāre parents, too, and nobody wants to separate families unnecessarily. But when illegal immigrants try to bypass the system, they need to meet with lawyers, social workers, and case managers ā itās a long, boring process and we just want to make sure their kids are well cared for while itās going on. Youāre seeing temporary facilities that, yes, look like cages, but I assure you that weāre working on building high quality permanent structures. In the meantime weāll do the best we can to get families back together." Itās a lie, but it sounds legit, right?
But no, they went with āItās the Democratsā fault! Theyāre making us do this!ā, āThe Bible compels us to put kids in cages!ā, āWeāre doing this to push legislation!ā, āItās Germanyās fault!ā and āItās not actually happening!ā as their defenses? You are so bad at this.
Indeed, that may just be one of the most galling things of all; our government is corrupt, immoral and self serving, and pretty much always has beenā¦ but at the same time, theyāve also been pretty good at spin and maintaining the facade that āthe US is the bastion of all that is right and good in the world.ā
This current crop of fuckwits are utterly terrible at it, and while some people claim āthatās a good thing,ā itās harrowing as fuck to witness as itās happening.
I donāt get it how Anonymous and all the other so-called whitehats out there are not hacking the shit out of DHS and ICE right nowā¦
Anonymous isnāt really even a collective, and who knows what random groups are doing? Wait for some exploit, people going to jail, or both.

Trump orders creation of U.S. force to dominate space
From the Washington Post, an op-ed that does a good job explaining why this is an incredibly terrible idea.
āWe are going to have the Air Force and we are going to have the Space Force, separate but equal.ā
Separate but equal. Havenāt I heard that somewhere before?
You beat me to it; he said that shit without even the slightest hint of awareness.
Yāknow, the same way he says everything else that comes out of that shithole he calls a mouth.
My guess is that he heard the phrase at some point and has a vague idea that it refers to something he approves of.
He really is an obscenely stupid person.
It is infuriating.
Damn. I mean, as a matter of course, politicians are always wrong in one way, sometimes two. But shit, you really know youāre propping up a dictator when ypu manage to be incongruously wrong in four different ways about a single policy.
That is horrifying.
Iāve tried twice, and I canāt get through it. Trump, Sessions, and Nielsen should be made to listen to that on endless loop for the rest of their lives.
I need to go hug my kid.
It would seem the White House thinks stealing babies is a political winner for them with their base. Horrifically, I donāt even think theyāre wrong.
They are not wrong, no. As shown in Australia, the right wing views the cruelty as a feature, not a bug. They justify it as ādeterrenceā.
The picture isnāt much better on the Dem side of Congress, either.
When you look at the history of what came before, it becomes pretty clear that the objections of the centrist establishment are not to what is being done but to the uncouth manner in which it is being exposed.
Most of this horror was already in existence before Trump, and the collaborationist Democrats are already moving towards ācompromiseā. Soon they will move to negotiations where āsecuring the bordersā is an unquestioned bipartisan priority. The debate will not be over whether to imprison immigrants, but how.
ā
As with everything else, this can be stopped. But only by overthrowing the system, not by working within it.
Ah, yes. The good old āyouāve got to be cruel to be kindā bullshit.
Asshole politics just wouldnāt be complete without it.
The DHS took, what, 24 hrs to go from āWe have no policy of separating families. Period,ā to vigorously defending their policy of separating families (on national TV, in front of fascist iconography, no less)
In Fox News showing less spine than a super sized package of frozen chicken news
