She is both lacking in flowing, feminine locks and she is an athlete. That’s 2 big strikes for the “women need to look like women” crowd. Just more evidence for the “it’s never about safety or protection, it’s about controlling women, body and mind” case.

I really thought there’d be a main thread here on this by now considering they are trying to push through a draconian, sweeping piece of anti-protest legislation which has plenty to say about sending you to the slammer for 10 years for damaging a memorial to slave traders but nothing about protecting women. That seem right to you?

Same thing has been happening in the US. Multiple states are pushing legislation to make it a crime to insult the police or to ensure all peaceful protesters are treated like rioters (not the Capitol Bldg insurrection or sporting event types of rioters who are allowed to go home, but the ones accused of attacking the police and burning entire cities to the ground whenever property is damaged):

The shithead whose article this illustrated is one of those who followed the well worn path from Trot to far right conservative. He’s what would be called a “stickie” here. I was going to post up video of entitled dick politicians interrupting and insulting the Leas Ceann Comhairle (Deputy Speaker) a while back which goes to show the embedded culture among politicians (and in this case propagandists and political advisors) here. The politician who tweeted support there is the anti Muslim racist son of the most notorious anti semite politician in Ireland. I used to think that other countries don’t actually have equivalents to the likes of him but with Fox News supporting Russia, you now do.
