Ah, so they really DO support Republican values after all!

Well, that is surprising.

When I saw “sheriff” and “fuck the police” I was all ready for someone with an intricately developed theory of how Common Law means that the only legitimate authorities are the county sheriff and jesus; because reasons; but it looks like reality is doing me one better today.

They’re an ancap but oddly one of the few decent ones. I remember listening to FreeTalk Live back in the day and she’s in their orbit so they’re anti-war-on-drugs and anti-cop so generally good in those areas.

They’re an ayn-cap rather than an actual anarchist, but they still look better than the usual “blue lives matter” candidates.

Edit: I missed the they/them pronouns in my first read of the article. Corrected.

I’d love to sit down and throw back a pint with Dimezzo. They sound like a total character - in the best way possible.

Maybe they all knew exactly who DeMezzo was, and thought that person is just right for the job: someone who doesn’t want the job, but will do it honestly?

Naaaaah!

They should have waited until after the general election to point out exactly who the GOP voters had nominated (and potentially even elected) based solely on the letter R after their name.

“…they all filled in the circle by my name despite knowing absolutely nothing about the person they were nominating to the most powerful law enforcement position in the county…That’s a level of recklessness of which any decent human being should be ashamed.”

Can’t argue with that. Angry voters have no legitimate reason to blame DeMezzo for their outrage.

I mean, they ARE libertarian after all. These voters, perhaps accidentally, voted in their own self-interest, nominating a small-government covidiot in the end.

Are you sure it matters? It will be interesting to see how many votes he gets in the election by people who hasn’t listened to any news but just vote straight republican.

Jeff Johnson for Congress. The name you know.

They should move to Arizona and run against Arpaio…

I wish Republican party was a anarcho-capitalist party. They’d still want to destroy the government and make it run like shit, but at least they’d be honest about and be happy to tear down whatever authoritarian structures you point can point at, and end mass incarceration.

“Anarcho”-capitalists generally don’t want to tear down the government though, they want to privatise it and sell it to the highest bidder.

This is one of those Free State Project people presumably?

But what when he gets elected?

Because changing the culture in a police force as an outsider with little to no support from within and quite possibly not even with that much support from without sounds like a huge nut to crack.
