well I’m ok with it in the sense that it isn’t the fight I’m in right now…first priority is that I just don’t want to be thought to be inherently less attractive or be of lesser quality merely because I’m not white (even though Tinder and OKCupid tells me otherwise). I’ll work on being charismatic even though I’m not a model at another date…priorities…
The worst part is, save for dissociatives, there’s not really a whole lot of circumstances in which drugs are going to do much more than bring stuff out of people that was already in there in the first place.

Between her halfhearted apologies and lame Ambien excuse it seems that even Roseanne herself has acknowledged that the original tweets were something she should never have written. Which makes her apologists’ defense of those tweets even more vile.

Racial humor has the potential to be funny. The thing is, when you’re trying to make jokes at the expense of other skin colors, ethnicities, and so on you walk a very fine line. It’s hard to pull off without looking like an asshole, and basically impossible if you’re perceived as “punching down”.
It takes an expert comic to pull this kind of humor off in an effective manner. Barr is definitely not that expert or nuanced comedian, and I don’t buy the “it’s just a joke, you guys” defense.

Ah, I knew he was going to jail for contempt of court (while free on a suspended sentence), but not the specific circumstances - so the “pedo” thing wasn’t completely out of left field. So rather than “pedo” being her insult for anyone opposing the alt-right, Roseanne probably does think there’s an international pedophile conspiracy against… the alt-right (or at least it’s convenient for her to pretend that’s the case).

The funny bit was when no one could figure out what comments about Trump ABC was supposed to be apologizing for. Presumably just the reporting of facts.

I think it’s also probably worthwhile to point out that TJ Miller, unlike Barr, was suffering from a serious brain tumor, the removal of which has resulted in significant behavioral changes that he himself has noted, which include things like being in a fugue state.
Roseanne Barr is just an unstable person. This isn’t the first time she has done something that raised significant public ire only to try to write it off as the result of medications, or stress, or unspecified “mental illness.” She is apologetic right now because it cost her a show, but this is by no means unusual for her.
Edit: Something I forgot, there for awhile she had claimed to be a survivor of incest and sexual abuse. She later retracted that statement and claimed that she was in a bad place mentally, on a lot of medications, “and just wanted to drop a bomb on my family.” Almost makes the racism thing seem like small potatoes.
