ABC News calls election for Biden

It was a lovely day. About half of Trumpland is still in denial at their loss. They’re going to attempt to monkey wrench the election tomorrow. I have a feeling they are about to taste failure twice. Maybe they can engineer a way to feel even more failure.

My money is on him not attending at all. Trump can be a grump sometimes.

please please please let it be the hog tied one, with one shoe off!

That’s just a small rounding error after all.

Is that even a question? I’d say it’s about 95% likely he won’t attend.

that worries me too, of course, but of more immediate danger is dealing with some of my “fox news” relatives. although some of them are going to something called o-a-n because too much of fox is reporting biden’s victory. and there is one woman who is mrs. navarro’s oldest friend from high school who is having a public meltdown via facebook and has been pretty scathing about my and my older son’s posts either celebrating biden’s victory or celebrating the relief it’s brought.

Assuming this report is true*, those Fox News/Facebook relatives may leave the platform for right-wing cesspool Parler [Wikipedia] just as they’re leaving Faux News for OAN [Wikipedia]:

And all because the lowest-common-denominator platforms and outlets that enabled Il Douche are now seen as not 100% supportive of him because they’re reporting [gasp] facts and rejecting some disinformation attempts.

While there are some dangers in terms of increased polarisation when people retreat further into far-right media bubbles, it would be gratifying to see Zuckerberg and Murdoch bleed with the audiences their businesses can least afford to lose.

[* the Washington Examiner is a conservative outlet, so this may be an attempt at wingnut cross-promotion]

i’ve read about oann but i just won’t go there any more than i’d go to breitbart or drudge, not eve as opposition research.

Yeah, I stay away from those dumpster fires and never give them links (the Washington Examiner is a borderline case, but I’d suggest people don’t click through). There are plenty of reputable sources that keep an eye on them.

It looks like another “freeze peach”* platform they use is called MeWe.

That explains why they say

conservatives rally support to leave Facebook and Twitter over censorship.

rather than

conservatives rally support to leave Facebook and Twitter over “censorship”.

That may be true. But one rather doubts the reverse is the case.

She’s from Slovenia, although I’m sure that Moldavia has an equally strong export sector in mail-order sugar babies for wealthy and bloated old American narcissists.

I’m sure she’s very excited to return to a country that erected such a beautiful representation of her (now in bronze, the original wooden one burned down on July 4th).

It’s kind of hard to hide, though, with that much security detail. The no-fly zones will be a dead giveaway.

I pity the normal people just trying to run their businesses and maintain their livelihoods near his Florida pit of depravity if he decides to move there long term. I’m sure some of them even voted for Biden.

That won’t work - we have an extradition treaty with Slovenia.

Slovenia is the most wealthy and well off of the former Yugoslav countries, the most western oriented, and probably has no more “export wives” than any other European country. She was not an “export” wife, but a model.

I realize that “Eastern Europe” is seen as some “pseudo” western to some, but it’s kind of a tired, played out trope.

To the Q folks, don’t worry. Rudy got the best person around to fight off this coup attempt made by a pedo cabal.

“It’s such a shame. This is a democracy,” Daryl Brooks, who said he was a GOP poll watcher, said at the press conference, held at Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Northeast Philadelphia. “They did not allow us to see anything. Was it corrupt or not? But give us an opportunity as poll watchers to view all the documents — all of the ballots.”

Trenton political insiders watched with bemusement as Brooks took the podium.

Brooks was incarcerated in the 1990s on charges of sexual assault, lewdness and endangering the welfare of a minor for exposing himself to two girls ages 7 and 11, according to news accounts.

I would rather concentrate on her privilege and views than the source of her appearance here. When we dive into that old trope of “mail order brides” we remove her agency, as if she is a puppet off a shelf that had no life until Gepetto made his wish.

Melania Trump is fully in command of herself. She made the choices she made, and has stuck with her husband through everything.

The media have often portrayed her as a mitigating force, softening Donald Trump’s worst tendencies. But on the contrary, we have seen time and again that she is a driver and an encourager. She is not a lifeless puppet that does whatever its master says. She is not a mole on the inside, undermining her husband, trying to secretly make everything OK. She is actively engaged in the awfulness being perpetrated on us every day.
