I’ve actually done that myself, although admittedly I couldn’t afford a huge donation. I made sure to “thank” the protesters for reminding me to donate to the clinic.

If there isn’t a formal interweb law already proposed by someone (which would surprise me because it seems obvious now that you mention it), there should be one which states that in an article relating to the death of a POC involving the police, regardless of the actual cause of death or the events leading up to it, some commenter will inevitably call them a “thug” and suggest that the stereotypical “thug” lifestyle is what directly caused or greatly contributed to the death of the individual.
