Wow. I don’t think we have those in KS, or if we do, I never caught one. My dad I am sure would have liked the opportunity.

I think there are some fresh water sawfish out there, but not in KS. But my dad has fished in the ocean in he youth. Lived in New Orleans and some where off that coast of New York.

Kansas does have paddle fish! But they are in rivers, which I’ve never fished. But I have seen them in tanks at Bass Pro.

The largetooth sawfish can live in rivers and has been seen in freshwater on the Gulf Coast, but would be really shocking to find one in KS

Australia I think is where they are more usually found. River monsters episode had one IIRC.

Grew up in Wichita, can attest (smack in between the city and the country). I never heard anyone ever discuss sawfish outside of science class or the county zoo.
