That was a foolish move by the planners. It is a safe bet that one or more squadrons of fighter planes will be making sure that no aircraft gets within a few miles of the capitol.
DCA is only about 3 miles away.
Missile batteries are on roof tops to prevent these kinds of things from happening.
From an earlier alert:
Wonder what they intended to say by “a digitized voice”? It’s hard to find a communications system that doesn’t digitize analog information anymore.
…Synthesized?
Can they wait till after the vote?
This isn’t happening- though they need to track down how the communications were compromised. As noted above- they’ll be fighter jets on patrol - and TSA screening will be upped.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it were yet another wingnut false flag disinformation plot.
Clearly a Trump supporter trying to disrupt the Electoral College count.
“We’ve secretly replaced the Electoral College count meeting with stuffed dummies and Proud Boys. Let’s see if anyone notices.”
There are also three longer range anti aircraft missile emplacements surrounding DC.
I really don’t wanna be that guy, but this reeks of a false flag op by the RW to disrupt the Electoral College confirmation.
Especially when you consider these guys habit of accusing others of what they want to do.
(edited to add) I was thinking the same thing.
Yep. I’ve seen this one at Carderock.
Also at Joint Base Andrews and Fort Belvoir. They’re not visible from outside the bases, but they’re easy to find in the satellite view of Google maps
If DCA passengers only knew that if their flight path deviated ever so much…
“Stochastic terrorism is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if the recording was “signed” by a “John Baron” or “John Miller” or a “David Dennison”.
It’s this kind of joke that keeps me going despite all the derp. Thank you, DiveGirl.
A short period after 9/11 I was standing on the roof of the building in the background of that image doing some work stuff. (Aside: Grrrr… why can’t I get the image to appear in the quote of your post?) It happened to be the day some doofus in a small plane decided to go sightseeing over DC. My colleague and I both saw the plane go overhead and remarked to each other how strange that was. We speculated that perhaps it was somebody important that had figured out how to get permission from the FAA. Then the anti-aircraft battery lit up and started tracking the plane across the sky. We freaked out internally but there was nothing to do except watch. A few moments later a fighter escort arrived - several in fact. One took up a position off the wing of the little plane and, as reporting went, notified the pilot that perhaps he should turn on or listen to his radio. In any case, the plane turned around and the missle battery went silent again.
Hopefully you had a change of pants available.
Air band traffi is still in AM, and air band transceivers meant for small planes are readily available.
So it’s easy to interfere to the air band communications but is also possible to easily get caught.
