Weird. Usually you can just flip up the occupied sign and retract the bolt manually.

No doubt Ryan Air will be offering this option on all future flights.

Well, it kept them safe from the other passengers. Those people are getting dangerous.

Better than being locked out of the bathroom when you need to get in.

Spirit would ask for his credit card and charge him before letting him out.

Aside from a slight concern that someone might take advantage of the opportunity to steal my carryon bags, I don’t think this would bother me much, at least not for a flight of that duration. If I was a parent traveling with kids, I’d probably feel differently.

I’m sure he had that fresh lav smell for a week afterwards.

United and American are already thinking of ways to charge extra for this arrangement.

He probably had more leg room in there than in his seat!

Usually I do fine right up until someone tells me to calm down and not panic. After that, all bets are off.

If that is the ONLY toilet on the plane, rather be locked inside than outside.

You’d enjoy the peaceful time alone?
Heck, it’s not like they’re gonna go anywhere, you’d have a plane full of free babysitters!

i would pay way extra to have a toilet seat.

Oh dear, what can the matter be?
Airplane passenger locked in the lavatory.
He was there from Mumbai to Bengalury,
And everyone knew he was there.
