I first read that as “beer can” and was very confused.

More people should invest in GPS beacons to signal for help when going hiking in more remote areas, but glad this dude is ok

Bear Cam, eh? This sounds like a great, low-budget, found-footage horror film idea.

GoPro on a bear!

Kind of like the social media celebrity cats of Mr. Kitters whose adventures get posted daily.

This is one of half a dozen or so live ‘bear cams’ in Alaskan parks. broadcasting over the internet. They are pointed at, you guessed it, places where bears are active, usually during salmon run season. Glad the hiker didn’t encounter one of the many reasons for a live bear cam!

However, I’m wondering what do bears do in such bad weather in the summer/fall? Do they retreat to their dens they used for hibernation? If the guy happened to fall into one, that could be a disaster.

“Oh no, this is a bear cam. People can’t be on here. Shoo!”
