I have no idea why there exists clip art for that. Or what made me look for it.
It exists because it must, because there is a universal mandate that all typing faux pas, once created, are swirled through the cosmic martini glass that is reality and distilled into graphical forms that are fed back through the hidden coding of space and time until they arrive at the nexus point of our societal focus.
Or probably because some kid with decent art skills was eating pizza after smoking a metric ton of prime Idaho bud and thought “holy crap, my slice of pizza looks like a cross between the Bill from Schoolhouse Rock and Lee Harvey Oswald.”
How to describe Alex Jones without unfairly maligning excrement…
What what Jones is saying isn’t different than the thousands of rumors, half truths, and lies spreading around the internet and other media. He wasn’t the only one spreading this conspiracy. How would you enforce a law if we had one? For every Alex Jones out there, there are a dozen other “sources” and hundreds if not thousands of “true believers” repeating it.
If he literally said, “Someone with a gun should go in and save those poor kids.” Then that might be actionable as inciting a specific action (no idea if he did this or not). Just saying there is a pedophile ring in the basement of a pizza joint I don’t think one can act upon.
The issue here is someone ACTED on bad information. I think the responsibility for that lies with the person who acted more than the people spreading the false information. Or at least that is the one person you can CLEARLY apprehend and punish.
I am not trying to be a leg pissing asshole I evidently am, but just looking at the reality of this, saying “There should be a law!” doesn’t help at all when the reality of making said law and what it would look like and how it would be enforced isn’t clear.
@Wanderfound 's Incitement law he posted is pretty good. But at the same time it seems to me that such a law would just be worked around by someone like Jones choosing his words carefully. “I am not saying that someone should go in there and bust up the ring. That is the last thing I am saying. No one should do that. But some how the authorities needs to crack down on this evil pedophile ring.” People will pick up on ques that are implied or not. (See below for a light hearted example of using ambiguous language.)
Like I said, BB posted about a rumored pedophile ring in Hollywood. Would Xeni be liable for inciting action for posting the story if some one went into a fancy Hollywood party full of say young Disney Channel stars, hoping to bust up a pedophile ring? I realize that Jones is much frothier and dramatic in his presentation, but in both cases they are repeating rumors with out hard evidence.
Fortunately for the thousands of weird conspiracies out there, most people are content just looking for evidence of the truth, vs trying to confront it head on.
ZOMG - Oswald is holding Bill in that photo! It’s just disguised a propaganda piece.
WAIT - that isn’t even fucking Oswald!!!
THIS is Oswald. What are you trying to pull here…
I snatched the image from the King miniseries with the actor who played him.
I didn’t realize it at first, but when looking up the pic it became evident
Oh, one more thing, how about people passing along bad medical misinformation? How do we limit that?
As nutty as Alex Jones is, the Pizzagate guy didn’t hurt anyone.
Thousands of people are not vaccinating their kids, not taking medicine they might need, taking medicine they might not need, forgoing cancer treatment for an alternative therapy (even smart people like Steve Jobs). These and other things are actually hurting and killing people every day.
I remember the 1988 Calgary Olympics, and that is not Eddie the Eagle.
That requires dipping into descriptions of toxic industrial waste. Excrement can actually be used to promote growth and is an important component of the ecosystem.
We don’t, and it’s just going to get worse.
Orrin Hatch and the quack lobby that sponsors him is going to be very pleased with a Trump administration.
Also, persons could have encouraged the quacks not being empowered by getting their relatives to not vote for antivaxers like Trump, but here we are.
I will admit that I have not done my due diligence on tracking this down, but I vaguely remember Jones saying things like “We can’t depend on the authorities to do anything about it, because they are part of the cover-up” and “Someone should do something about this!” That, to me, is incitement.
Update: I need to take a shower. I watched the whole clip. I’m definitely nauseous. So, he didn’t say “someone should do something about this,” he said, “You need to go investigate this for yourselves.” And that is exactly what one of his viewers did - with a gun.
Yeah, one of the types of defamation that is actionable per se is “imputing serious sexual misconduct.” Could also possibly be seen as incitement?
That’s true - poop can do good in the world

The ADL debunked that. There was no complaint or religious issue, and the family was going on a planned vacation, not “fleeing.”
The school’s FAQ on the matter:
Of course none of that matters, because they’re all in on it!
