Prosecutors plan to recommend that Walters be sentenced to 1½ years in prison.
Did they read the same list of actions that I did?
Los Angeles Police Department Officer William Jones will not face charges under the Justice Departmentâs two-year-old program to investigate fatal police shootings of unarmed people.
The Justice Department program has closed eight police shooting cases since July 2021. It has not recommended charges against officers in any of them. There are 46 cases still open, the oldest one dating to August 2021.
emphasis mine
âYouâre fine. Shut the fuck up,â one officer can be heard saying in response.
Once again, their sheer laziness is on display. When they donât go beyond the bare minimum to investigate before hiring (and let the bad apples quit instead of firing), how can the people âprotectedâ by these departments expect cops to make an effort for actual crimes?
âQuestionable scienceâ is being way far too generous for the subject. âExcited deliriumâ is as made-up as âRapid Onset Gender Dysphoria,â and has less research behind it. Strictly made up as an excuse to sedate people who are being uppity or insisting on their rights. And the fact that in a very consequential number of cases, the âpatientâ dies should, if this was real, have resulted in serious review of the practice. As it is, that is a feature, not a bug. âHey, man, if they die, they shouldnât have mouthed off, amirite?â
4 years ago deputies in Slidell (suburb of New Orleans) went to a black neighborhood because of reports that someone was riding a dirt bike without a helmet. When a woman pointed out there might be some racism involved in the cops harassing Black residents, the deputies shoved her face into the drive way, kneed her in the back and threatened to tase her 14 yo son that was filming the assault. This week, the now 18 year old won an $185,000 settlement.
There is a proposed state law currently being discussed that would outlaw this sort of filming of cops. All cops, and politicians that enable them too
The final 2 employees charged with âmisconductâ for restraining an inmate and leaving him to die of dehydration have had their charges dismissed. No justice for the family of a man tortured and left to die while in the custody of the state.
Wow, they just keep finding rotten apples in those barrels of LEOs - regardless of variety:
Cops causing deaths by violating guidelines?
Cue the blaming of poor training, mistakes made because of fear/danger, or suggestions that more taxpayer money is needed to set better guidelines. Instead of holding them accountable, weâre expected to help the poor LEOs learn not to cut off peopleâs ability to breathe or tase them into unconsciousness/death. Thatâs on top of all the training they were given before getting badges, cuffs, tasers, and guns.
Except the instructions printed on the round clearly instruct the user to aim at the ground in front of the target and have a BIG BOLD WARNING on them that aiming directly at the target can cause serious injury or death. The marshall was using the round inappropriately and it caused serious injury.
If a physician used a medical device against itâs instructions for use and a serious injury resulted, theyâd be in deep shit. I know of a physician who lost his license and practice for exactly that. LEOs who use less-lethal weapons and ignore the instructions and their training need to face consequences and likewise no longer do that job, ever again.
