A depressing distinction should also be made between Canada’s current protective response to a (likely) foreign assassination of one its citizens and the sorry realpolitik response the states have managed against Saudi Prince bonesaw and his directed assassination of a U.S. citizen and journalist Jamal Khashoggi. -sigh-
It makes you wonder who the bad guys are doesn’t it?
Yeah, sometimes harsh reality dictates that world leaders need to make compromises or strategic deals with odious counterparts, but it’s not even clear why Biden is working with this guy right now. What’s even in it for the U.S.? We don’t need Saudi oil right now and OPEC has repeatedly snubbed the U.S. and others by doing things like cutting production at a critical time last year that helped Russia.
Even the former Obama administration guys on Pod Save The World can’t figure out why Biden seems to be expending so much political capital to broker a deal between S.A. and Israel that doesn’t seem to include any major benefits for the U.S. or any of our stated values such as protecting human rights around the world.
All the money in the world won’t make this rotten family anything more than a pack of jumped-up thugs.
You mean sportswashing doesn’t work?
