The question to be found is given those number what was the percentage of the population that got SARS-CoV2 in total and more importantly the side effect that people that survive will have.

Let’s leave aside the 99% claim, which we could argue all day, I don’t think the truth of this statement changes at 50% or 99.9%, it just comes into sharper relief.
Any one that wants to survive will do their part. This doesn’t negate that not everyone can self isolate, its just that those who can will. Even people who are not in a position to self isolate do their best by limiting their exposure thereby limiting their impact.
