If only the government had presented some evidence of the crime they were prosecuting them for.
Now that these guys have been acquitted, I think it’s time the government goes after the rangers that refused to go to work and dock their pay and maybe fire them for not doing their jobs.

Poor guy, his death didn’t even spark an armed nationwide rebellion, and those damned bird watchers are still traipsing about on that prime cattle feed.
(I feel a bit crass making light of his death, but then pulling a gun while yelling “shoot me!” is kind of “Darwin Awards” territory.)

I wondered about nullification as well. I know one juror was kicked off because another juror claimed he was biased against the defendants.

Is that what they were charged with? I don’t know, I am asking.
Seems to me SOMETHING should have stuck, even if conspiracy charges didn’t. But hey, the government is terrible at it’s job, so what do you expect

They were found innocent of “Conspiracy to prevent, by force, intimidation, and threats, employees of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Bureau of Land Management from carrying out their duties.”
The defense basically argued successfully that there was no reason that government employees couldn’t have shown up for work while the Bundys were occupying the refuge.
They were also found innocent of theft of government property and use of a firearm in relation to a violent crime.

It’s just insane. Imagine if they had been allowed to show up to work, and one of them had been killed in an altercation. Then there would have been a civil trial against the workplace for endangering their employees in a dangerous standoff.

Why do you think they were found not guilty? Because white? Maybe there was more to the story than the media showed; the media is such a lapdog for the source of their “stories” - the authorities. Please let it roll through your heads: they were found innocent of conspiracy. Now look to the other side for conspiracy. So many low information responses… and I smell racism - not mine.
