Conflating these two separate incidents was pointless and pandering.
Clearly, this smoker crew are suffering through nicotine withdrawals and are hallucinating.
It is wildly irresponsible to conflate these two stories.
I’ve always looked to boing boing as a source for illuminating interesting and under-represented corners of our world. Articles like this - at best - undermine your credibility and - at worst - promote wild conspirtuality over thoughtful skepticism.
We have a hard enough time coming to mutual understanding today. Why make things up and sew confusion when there’s so much interesting about the world that is true?
sow, unless you mean to stitch up.
i agree though about making things up. we all know that oumuamua isnt’t an “asteroid”. i sense a massive cover-up underway.
oh wait. cover-up. stitch. i see it now.
i’m assuming that the pilot saw a drone at an angle giving it the illusion of speed? kind of wonder if now that drones are become so prevalent we’ll start getting more and more ufo reports.
Have you seen what they pedal over that boing boing store?
Welcome aboard, Comrade (though I presume you’ve been stowing away for a while and keeping your head down)
meh I see unidentified flying objects all the time! But then after I name my floaters they become ‘identified’. “i call that one mr dangly and that one spiderblob”
I’m seeing unidentified flying objects RIGHT NOW
Me liketh it well!
Worth mentioning “Cigar Shaped” UFO’s have been reported for many decades. The weird books my dad had on the topic when I was a kid suggested, the “cigar shapes” have sightings going back to the 1800’s.
If you see a cruise-missile shaped object while flying over New Mexico, it’s probably a cruise missile.
Someone had to do it.
I would assume that it’s a drone of some type.
I’m sure that the phone I carry around everywhere has a camera built in. Surely they have photos of this UFO?
I am also sure that smart phones had cameras in them 3 years ago. Why no photos or video?
However, a cruise missile that flew that close to a commercial flight is a problem. Some operator or flight planner is getting a hearing over this incident.
In a completely unrelated piece of news, the Missile Range Roadblock schedule is currently unavailable to the public. Main page is up: WSMR Road Block Schedule
But I get a 403 error for the text files with actual schedule info for individual days, like Sunday: https://www.wsmr.army.mil/roadblock/sunday.txt
They do the roadblocks when a missile test is scheduled.
I disagree on your assessment, but we have updated the post to reference another similar incident closer to Earth. Thank you.
Cigar shape? It was probably Rush Limbaugh’s eternal soul being escorted from the planet to be locked away forever in the Phantom Zone.
Awful strong fuss about it… almost like they are trying to COVER SOMETHING UP. dun dun dunnnnn
Where the hell are those pilots buying their cigars? That barely qualifies as a roach.
At least in the navy sightings, the “Impossible maneuvers” sure looked an awful lot like the sort of ‘maneuvers’ a reflection makes.
I had originally thought that cell phones would mean the end of this sort of time-suck. “Pics or it didn’t etc.” But it just means that we get people wasting time over recording artifacts instead.
I say this as someone who thinks it highly likely that We Are Not Alone. The Truth Is Out There™, it is just very, very, verrrry far away.
