So they spent $12,000 on a bespoke stuffed cat that they never used, and ended up having to film the scene with three trainers and two real cats?

There is so much going on behind the scenes - the actors are like 5% of the people who actually work on the show.

That is amazing to me.

There’s a saying with animals on film- If you need a dog to do 12 tricks, you teach him 12 tricks. If you need a cat to do 12 tricks, you find 12 identical cats.
