Ain’t nobody pulling THEIR strings.
Besides we all know that trans people aren’t going to openly serve at this point. Look at the joy of their openly gay comrades within the ranks.
… but why? I’d have to imagine a trans person would wear the uniform specific to their gender identity. Are you saying a trans person should have to wear a special uniform with a pink triangle or something?
I don’t get the “political correctness” complaint. It’s just updating the titles to reflect reality. Is reality now too politically correct? Do they prefer to live in a make-believe fantasy world?
But I like how they sold the changes by basically making the titles cooler.
I am just saying that DOD has a dedicated team researching the issue. I have no idea what they are likely to propose or conclude.
This is exactly what I was going to say.
How is making a multi gender work position ungendered in title being PC? It’s just the way things are!
In the last few years I’ve learned to say a position has been “staffed” instead of “manned” and other such changes. It took about two weeks before it just came naturally. This is one case where I will seriously tell people to “get over it!”
And how many thousands of those study groups would it take to match the cost of one useless white elephant fighter plane?
From here, your comments appear very much like an attempt to scapegoat transfolk for USMC failings that have nothing to do with them.
“Despicable”, “dishonest” and “dishonourable” are the adjectives that comes to mind.
This website isn’t your timeline. I suggest YOU not share it, and… problem solved!
I think you might be an asshole for any number of reasons, but certainly not that one.
Talking about it, but not proving it.
Maybe you should have made that clear in your original comment instead of making a statement that supported the perception. I realize that was probably not your intent but I think it highlights the need to think about what you’re saying.
To engender outrage on his part, as ususal.
See “Is max pissing on your leg and telling you it is raining?”, as above.
He wrote that with Brexit in mind, right?!
Stop getting your ‘news’ from wherever you’re getting it from. There’s no such thing as a “transgendered uniform”, and even if there were, the cost for a few dozen would not interfere with the ability to get functional night scopes. Everything you said makes it clear that you don’t actually know, you’re just repeating the complaints of someone else. Rest assured the situation is nowhere near as dire as you’ve been lead to believe.
Damn my complete lack of likes right now.
What do you think transgendered people wear? An F2M wears a man’s uniform, and an M2F wears a woman’s uniform. The uniforms come in all sizes, because there are all sizes of men and women. What’s the real issue here?
Again, where’s the evidence? You earlier cited training memo that focused upon training leaders to lead by using inclusiveness. I’m not convinced that your military acquaintances know what they’re talking about. With all the sizes available for uniforms, why is it necessary to have uniforms that indicate whether someone is transgender or not?
When they got rid of the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy I’m pretty sure they kept the “don’t ask” part.
The etymology of “infantry” is indeed the same as “infant.”
From
Latin infant- (stem of infāns) small child, literally, one unable to speak
to
Italian infanteria, equivalent to infante boy, foot-soldier
This whole uniform issue seemed pretty silly to me, but I decided to do a quick Google search to see if I could find anything to clarify. There’s a brief article in the Military Times stating that the military is looking into guidelines for transitioning service members. In other words trans individuals who are in the military now, but have not been living as the gender they identify as. That’s basically it. What standards do they adhere to as they transition. Not special uniforms for trans people, or anything goofy like that.
Maybe. But they were right the first time, too.
