I was fortunate enough to get one of these ā€œmust haveā€ jackets in middle school after begging my parents for it. ā€œFortunateā€ because the experience taught me a valuable lesson early on about how expensive designer clothes will totally fail to convey cool on a geeky kid.

For the most part that was my experience.

At least I missed out on the earlier ā€œBeat itā€ zipper jacket.
