I presume it’s a similar tactic to achieving an adrenaline dump but with a heckler’s ego. Pull the rug under their ego to stop any momentum they have to keep being an asshole, might be the kind of tactic a magician or mentalist would be best suited to pulling off.

That seems more appropriate for a comedian heckler, not a magician’s. I see them as a kinder, gentler sort.
I find Steve Martin to be extraordinary because he bridged these well.
