That’s a big kicker that I think we’re missing in this conversation.
Say you’re a closeted trans-femme. You’re absolutely terrified of people knowing what you think about yourself in your head. It’ll slip into the content you find appealing. Then, this gives people a way to redirect sexual embarrassment into blame that can be targeted at others.
This is a way of radicalizing the closet by redirecting shame.
