Spoilers!
Because many FBI agents have white supremacist sympathies or are members?
[…] they have some major blind spots when it comes to domestic terrorists and what exactly defines a “foreign connection” (funding? recruiting? media influence?
Don’t forget to account for the bit that was created by the USA funding/training/arming jihadists throughout the Cold War.
I’m sorry… This is killing me… These “statues” are they bronze or marble or what?
Timothy McVeigh was widely described as carrying out the worst act of domestic terrorism when he killed 168 people in a 1995 bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City. By his own admission, his motive was clearly political — he hated the federal government. Yet he was convicted of and put to death for killing federal officers and variety of other charges — but not for terrorism.
They don’t want her to look nearly as dumb as they want the questions to look.
“How dare you talk about our base that way!”
Yup, why the fuck do domestic terrorists need an international connection - wouldn’t that just make them part of an international terrorist organisation?
More pertinently, who gives a shit who they’re connected to^. Know them by what they do, not by who they talk to.
^ rhetorically speaking. By all means use their connections to round up more of those fucktards.
I could say the same about republicans, except that 34 people involved with the trump campaign have already been indicted while you’re just blowing smoke up your own ass.
Unless Obama and Clinton were collaborating with white supremacists, you are off topic
Posts of the form “THIS IS A DISTRACTION FROM SOMETHING ELSE” are not, in general, helpful
Legalized bullshit to protect wypypo…
Hm.
you know another way to look at the fbi’s stance is that muslims here in the us are all good citizens by default. only foreign influences might turn someone bad.
non-muslim white folks, however. well… they are obviously self-radicalizing. they don’t need an outside influence to lead them to commit horrible crimes.
i guess the fbi must think they are a pretty darned dangerous group.
maybe the best solution here is just getting white americans to convert. problem solved, no?
Wouldn’t it be a lot more accurate to say the FBI treats all muslims in the US as foreigners.
OK, I’ll say it. AOC is smart, incisive, and unafraid. I mean like, damn! that woman is fierce!
totally. it’s either that reading or the one i (facetiously) spun out.
hmmm… perhaps i should of /s’d.
The important take-away of this exchange IMHO is that a problem has been identified (that for some reason white supremacist terrorist are not charged as such). My hope is that this is given the weight it deserves and Congress will put in the work to close the loophole and actually fix the problem instead of this being yet another “gotcha” used to further some other agenda.
