You don’t need to overcome the speed of light to travel to other solar systems, you just need a whole lot of patience. For all we know there are whole kingdoms of interstellar life forms that spread from system to system over millions of years as dormant spores.
Generation X isn’t just a marketing label.
I have no doubt that the Navy pilots don’t know what they’re looking at. And I have no doubt that they’re seeing a real object. What they are seeing on their screens are distortions caused by a combination of poor resolution, image processing and TRZ artifacts though.
Well I saw an interview with the pilot who took one of the videos (IIRC) and was the CO of the pilot who took the other one, and he explained what all he saw and how the locking and tracking worked and how he still has no answer for what he saw and what the cameras picked up and tracked. It was also seen visually.
It isn’t necessarily aliens. Like I said, i think anyone thing capable of getting here is capable of avoiding detection.
Do you want me to dig that up?
I’m pretty sure we discussed this previously. I have no doubt that the pilots were tracking objects. But I’m saying that what was shown on the recordings is not representative of what the actual object looked like because of the various effects I mentioned above.
The most important thing to know about the many-worlds interpretation is that its originator was Hugh Everett III, father of Mark Everett (“E” of the Eels).
And by “the most important thing about…” I mean “the only thing I know about…”
There was an excellent documentary about them a while back.
Being a chemist (as she is… and not an exobiologist) may give her some cred for offering an opinion on the comet/meteorite bacteria theory… if that’s what she clearly meant. Hard to tell from the Guardian article which looks pretty “choppy” to me, as if the questions were texted or emailed to her all at once and with no follow-up.
When he was on Joe Rogan?
Well it was described as looking like a Tic Tac visually. The video doesn’t have much features either. I suppose it could still have wings or something that is hard to see either visually or on the video. But given this pilot’s level of experience and familiarity with the aircraft and equipment, I am not so sure one can explain it away as simply poor imaging. Though fair point that could be a factor.
That was beautifully stated.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go pour a drink.
I was talking about this imagery.
Typo in name in title … Should be Helen Sharman (rhymes with Starman) and not Sherman (rhymes with German).
Do you mean the 1750s? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFaxBRAtPFU
Very likely. What is that?
OK, we are talking about different footage then. This took place off of CA.
To be clear, despite gobbling this sort of thing up when I was in Middle School/High School, I am pretty skeptical when it comes to UFOs and anything else now. Still when you have an otherwise sane person who doesn’t seem to be an attention seeker talking about how they have no idea what it is he saw and it seems to defy any known object - you have to wonder.
Cmdr Fravor seems extremely down to earth and believable. He saw, and then one of his pilots was able to capture the video of it. Corbell is more of a true believer, IIRC. Granted I watched this when it came out so I don’t recall the details, but I found it very interesting. YMMV
also you can never be sure when the military might have some weird tech that nobody has ever heard of and would not recognize. Like tank-killing frisbees. Yeah, that’s a real thing.
We are delighted to hear it; fall on your sword…Show us this loyalty, throw yourself onto your sword.
To be fair, considering she must be a smart woman, the way she worded her statement she was probably having a preemptive laugh at all the morons she knew would construe it as some kind of sensational reveal about secret aliens on Earth.
Without Giorgio Tsoukalos, the Internet would be a poorer place.
Well, she should really fix up the Drake equation’s flippant disregard for accuracy while she’s at it.
