Rudy already agreed not to contest the defamation charges months ago, and the judge ruled him liable. The only thing left for the court to do is to figure out how much money he’s got to pay. Basically, his only play now is to convince the judge he’s really really sorry for his actions and won’t do anything like this again.
So pulling a 180 on whether he was telling the truth about those election workers is a pretty batshit thing to do given that it’s only going to confirm that he has no remorse for his actions whatsoever.
