Something, something…Prison reform!

So far, however, he and other leaders say they have seen no evidence of any threats, and officials said the vetting hadn’t flagged any issues that they were aware of.

well that’s good. from what i hear absolutely no off duty cops, no military, and no recently ex-military attacked the capitol. and absolutely none of the capitol police were taking selfies with fascists or giving them directions while they were in the building.

I hope this is nothing:

It’s early, but this may be the beginning of an answer to “were there any foreign operatives using the whole thing as cover for intelligence gathering?” Or it may be nothing, and she disappeared because she’s the only one who rubbed her two braincells together and thought “maybe I shouldn’t be home when the FBI knocks on the door.”

Tbf, at this point and unless you want to spend the rest of your life on the run, the smart move is to be home when they come knocking

This reminds me of the poorly-planned scheme Francis McDormand’s character attempted in Burn After Reading.

One small point of difference: no one is wondering “why the fuck would they go to the Russians?”

Reading the article it seems to me more an issue of not wanting to have to justify that particular aspect when it comes to deciding whether Bison Hat Guy gets to stay in jail pre-trial or is released on bail.

At Friday’s court hearing, federal prosecutors in Phoenix asked the judge to strike the phrase that referenced capture and assassination. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Allison said evidence of that may be presented at trial, but that he did not want the judge to base her detention decision on that assertion being true.

Basically, the prosecutors don’t want to have to have a mini-trial at this point (and might not have all the evidence about lethal intent they think they can obtain).

To be honest, I really don’t think at this point in history Russia or any other country with a modern intelligence service would need to do anything like this. I don’t believe it would take a great deal of effort to place someone legitimately in that building, or compromise someone already there.

The destabilization of our government and the damage to our confidence in Democracy is a far, far greater win than anything they’d grab off Pelosi’s laptop.

Question for a tech savvy people: Is it likely that people could actually get any data off Pelosi’s laptop? Assuming:

  1. Laptop is encrypted per fed gov’t standards.
  2. Unlocking requires smart card and 8-digit PIN.
  3. Thief didn’t take Pelosi’s card and doesn’t know her PIN.

Mind you someone didn’t get the memo:

Canada?

Unless Sheila Broflovski was right after all…

I have to say this one is the weirdest:

How anyone can look at the physical reality of Trump and his past history of apparent unfitness for military duty and somehow see John Rambo…

I just can’t even…

Perhaps in lieu of “little green men” Russia has opted for little Q Men instead.

Good to finally see some confirmation that they have considered this possibility. Kinda my nightmare, the Anwar Sadat scenario.

She looks like such a nice girl.

The kind of girl you’d bring home to Mother Russia.

I’d like to talk about this video of a cop in a MAGA hat getting his fellow cops out to safety.

I think the guy should be reinstated, and get a medal.

If you want to be part of an illegal private army and violent coup - you better make sure you win.
