I doubt it.

You just can’t get something sitting on your cornea to focus on your retina, and if you could you wouldn’t be able to see anything else. Squinting through a lens held an inch or even a centimeter away from your eye is way different than putting it on your eye. If you put something like this in your eye maybe you will be able to fuzzily highlight general regions of vision but not very effectively, and you certainly won’t be displaying text.

It’s not the drops that bother me but, rather, that there’s a giant probe aimed at my eye that’s going to (a) turn out to be a sharp knife and not a plastic tip and (b) going be shoved into my eye by a passing stranger.
